People are doing so. Eventually, land fill sites may even be mined for them, once there is a demand, such as for fibre boards and heat insulation.
Yes, there they sit, unlike radioactive waste that glows.......and can escape into groundwater or the ocean, or coal residue, which is cancerous, and becomes easily airborne......yes, there they sit......
