ATTENTION DENTAL INSURANCE HOLDERS. (I live in PA and this is applicable here. I don't know if it applies to where you live but I wouldn't be surprised)

You have been paying too much for your fillings. I was told by my dentist that "rear" fillings were subject for compensation at the rate paid for the cost of the old, and no longer used amalgum fillings. That would mean that you would be responsible for 40% of the cost of a filling AT THE OLD RATE. But that no longer applies because now, your only option is the new white epoxy fillings which are cured by infra-red light. Hence, you are being forced to pay about 5 to 7 times the cost since they are not covered. I called my insurance provider, my dentist, the Dental Association and god knows who else and finally, after much arguing, questioning being told lies and treated like an idiot, it was uncovered that there has been "a computer glitch" and for the last 5 years the new fillings were supposed to have been covered up to 60 % of the actual cost . They rectified the problem for me but for years everybody refused to question the practice and paid much more than they should have. So if you have Delta, or United Concordia or any other dental plan, you can thank my friend Rick and me for questioning. cajoling and induring insults from functionaries who don't know what the hell they are talking about and finally concvincing the Insurance Industry that they need to update their coverage for dental procedures, all because nobody QUESTIONS AUTHORITY. The next time you go to your dentist, make sure you are not being overcharged for white fillings! NO MORE MURCURY IN YOUR MOUTH! You're welcome and don't remember to read the fine print, especially with insurance companies.

This year I got my amalgam fillings replaced and it cost me a lot.
I couldn't pay for many other household expenses during that time.
The info you got would have helped me. Thanks for posting.

Frankly, our obstinance and persevierance may, in the end save many people a lot of money, but I think the insurance industry should have to pay bigtime for ther perfdy. We should all demand reembursement! I think I'll contact the ACLU, of which I am a member. We need a class action suit!

I get my Health insurance through Obamacare. There are several plans offered, but my dentist told me they weren't worth it and I'd be better off going uninsured. It's your dental insurance employer based?

I have United Concordia. I think it's somewhere in the South.

@fishline79 Do you buy it on the marketplace or do you get it from your employee?
