Yes they do to some degree but most of the time in a positive way ,allows them to use there imagination and put them selves in place of one the characters To this day i still love watching Disney movies and others based on this ,more relaxing way less violence ,takes one back to a similiar time , A lot of fairy tales were based on a real life experience and have lots of learning knowledge built in for Children but as an adult you can see a whole other side to them also ,For example the Movie the Grinch Was a beautiful movie for kids about learning about love and giving and being good etc ,But if you are an open minded adult there were so many lines that were very adult in nature ,I loved it because of the both sides it presented and the children would be totally obvilious to them

I love this. thank you.

I think fairytales enhance a child’s imagination and make childhood more fun. Eventually they outgrow it, but the fun remains.

I used to work with someone who wasn’t allowed to believe in fairytales or read fiction growing up, and her personality was such a dud. I think it did her a disservice.

Yes I agree they do

Definitely, which is why I made sure that my god child had a copy of, ‘Fearless Girls’

Plus I keep a few bits around in case of visiting children, including the below book.
I remember learning a lot from books as a child, growing up in a traumatic environment, escaping to the world of books was often a pleasure not found elsewhere, as I learnt about places different to the one that I resided in and adults that were more supportive than demeaning.
If not for books the world would have been a very awful place for littlegirlwithoutsmiles.
They helped put things into context and allowed me to learn that some people are different.

Only if kids are mentally slow. As a child, I could easily separate fiction from reality.

I knew Bible stories, Grimm's Fairy Tales and Aesop's Fables were just stories written by men.

Yes I agree about the mentally slow as they more than likely would take them as the truth and could have a really negative effect on them ,So I think one would have to be selective to which ones they should see

The first article is definitely excellent.
