Some days.. my calendar is just chock full of musicians or writers; today, I find four Nobel prize scientists all sharing a birthday. Happy birthday to Freeman Dyson; Steven Chu; Donald Glaser and Daniel Tsui.
I want to give special heartfelt recognition and thank you to Joseph, Freiherr von Mering, and Oskar Mikovski, and all the dogs that gave their lives for this research to take off. The two scientists proved that when you remove the pancreas from a dog, it showed the same sign as people suffering from diabetes. Their research set in motion a whole pharmaceutical industry and saved countless lives.

I am for the protection of the welfare of humans, especially this one, my granddaughters, and other T1 diabetics.
PETA "freed" about 600 minks from a mink farm &, being minks, instead of scampering off,they fought each other to the death., right there amongst the cages. Ignorance is Never bliss
@AnneWimsey Lady Gaga offered $500K reward for the return of her dogs, no questions asked. Meanwhile her dog walker was shot and in critical condition. No reward for the arrest of the shooter. I don't like animal cruelty. I love animals. I'm a member of the human race. Human life comes first.
@barjoe oh come on,police are no doubt allover finding the human perp(s), there is Nothing like that for dogs....nohing. The pound doesn't call you even if they are microchipped, you have to call them!
