My son and his wife, my son-in-law, my brother and his wife have all been vaccinated. They live in UK.
Meanwhile, my 91 year old brother-in-law in Italy only received his first dose last week. Nobody else, not even my 76 year old sister, has had a jab in Italy.
Here in Spain, I received my first dose a fortnight ago. They are still trying to vaccinate those over 80.

@altschmerz Which point?

Good for you. The vaccines are happening fast now that we have a functional government.

I will get my first Moderna vaccine next Wednesday.

I had Oxford Astrazeneca

@LenHazell53
Have read about that one, which seems quite innovative.
Am ready for more news about its effectiveness.

@AnonySchmoose Released a few days after Pfizer there have been Over 300,000,000 doses distributed world wide, and was approved long before Moderna, and has apparently halved the geriatric mortality rate in the UK.

@altschmerz .... on a "not for profit" basis. The largest producer of the AZ vaccine is the Serum Institute of India.

@altschmerz AstraZeneca didn't "change their minds".
The vaccine was developed by Oxford University, and they insisted that at least until July it is marketed on a "not for profit" basis. The Serum Institute of India is the World's largest manufacturer of vaccines, under licence, and AZ have a lot of their stuff made there.
