Art probably thought X-Files was a documentary. Weird show that could be entertaining if you're on a long drive at tnight.

I loved the show. What fun, all the ridiculous conspiracies and outlandish alien theories. Last I heard of him was he absconded to the Philippines because of his promotion of Human Growth Hormone. How about the chem trails? Sure enough! you look up and they're all over the place. Has to be some sort of cosmic trap set by the enemies of Planet Earth.

When he was doing the alien stuff it was a nice show, when he went political it was not.

It sucks when people die. I used to listen to it when I threw newspapers. Sometimes it was good, sometimes it wasn’t. I enjoyed the show when all of the Hale-Bopp stuff was happening.

I enjoyed his show but with a sense of guilt about it, since I knew his uncriticial and often supportive presentations of woo woo guests and unsupported conspiracy theories did harm to the critical thinking processes of millions. (He could even be said to have helped set the conditions for Americans in increasing numbers to prefer voting based on comforting untruths rather than better criteria). There was the enjoyment of his assemblage of characters, his interview craftsmanship and his subject matter, but the awareness the guy was really up to no good contribution to our advancement as a species.
