A question for British and European friends, or others who may know. I just turned on the Carabao Cup final between Manchester City and Tottenham (US soccer/ everyone else football). I turned on just as the opening music was ending. The song sounded just like "Of Thee I Sing." What was I hearing? The internet is overloaded with too much unhelpful info. Thanks if anyone knows.

Sorry I didn’t hear it as I’m not watching the match...so can’t help you. The only thing I know is that the NHS choir were to sing God Save The Queen according to what I read earlier.

It wasn't that. I bet if you heard it, you would have known. I caught part of the last verse and didn't hear the words, but the melody was, to my ears, exactly like Of Thee I Sing. Thanks anyway. I get curious over things.

@Beowulfs Ya'lls ears are just fine! It IS exactly the same melody!

@AnneWimsey So what what was it they were singing?
