Back in the late 70s/early 80s, I was totally into punk and what then was called "New Wave," but since those kinds of music never got any airplay back then, buying music was a total crapshoot. If an album looked interesting, I'd get it. But sometimes albums looked better than they sounded, so I ended up with a lot of really horrible stuff, as did some of my friends who were doing the same thing. One night we decided to hold a Bad Record Contest, which basically involved getting drunk and listening to the year's accumulated shit. This became an annual event, and I always won. But I have to say, this song would have given me some stiff competition!
