As long as conservatives and the GOP continue to have vast influence over our politics and rampant lobbying is allowed and corporations and special interest groups buy up politicians like trading cards then the gun plague will never ever end.

Maybe... just maybe, though unlikely, it could grow bad enough that even some conservatives might pause and briefly think maybe that something is wrong but I won't hold my breath.

It is always us White men. What the hell is wrong with us White men? We fuck up the government. We fuck up law enforcement. We kill people at an alarming rate unprecedented anywhere else on the planet. Just like America we White men are highly overrated.
