That is all true.

But it does not follow that from those truths we can surmise that faith has no possible constructive use.

When we have the facts we obviously should use them. The problem is that sometimes we have to make decisions when the facts simply aren't available.

Sometimes, without a bit of faith in something, we might be frozen in indecision or fear.

That something might be as simple as the knowledge that "X" has always worked before, so maybe it will work again. But that is still faith.

Here's another truth: almost every decision we make depends on some measure of faith.

But EWW, that word has religious stinky on it!

The only time I have heard about this type of faith is from atheist.

Faith is what one relies on when they have no good reasons. Otherwise, one would say I believe such & such because of... & give actual evidence or reasons, rather than appeal to "Faith".

"Faith, the gift of believing without evidence."

Faith the answer when you are demonstrably wrong.
