Time, experience and gravity take their toll on all of us if we're lucky enough to live a while. The hope got replaced with strength, and the strength has taken me much farther than hope ever could.

@FrayedBear I didn't believe in prayer and woo any more then than I do now. I was one of the rare birds who was consistently spoon fed fundamentalist Christianity at a very young age and rejected it due to my own ability to think critically and act upon my own sense of humanity.

1. Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.
2. The probability that a certain person (will) be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.
4. Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places and under any circumstances to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.

@FrayedBear I'm not sure why you're dumping on me, but I have never "lived by hope." I can't imagine where you even got that idea. Also, I'm not stupid. If you knew me at all, that would be the first thing you'd notice. I tend to have a positive outlook in spite of the fact that I have had a pretty fucking difficult life since I was a teenager, and I am often hopeful about things when there is a reason to be. But I can also take care of my own issues, and deal with assholes pretty effectively, so how about you back away and go take jabs at somebody else for a while?

I didn't like school too much, either. But I discovered later that I do like learning, and did so much better when I pursued it on my own. To be honest, I found most of my classmates pretty uninteresting this weekend, but even so, I managed to have some fun.
