I live in the Rocky Mountains where viewing the night sky is limited
Recently I went camping in Moab Utah around three am I went for a pee and was amazed at the full sky above
I was able to see the red star aldebron
And made out three planets I assume were mars Jupiter and Saturn
Looking for fellow star gazers to enjoy the nite time sky
Remember when you have to go you have to go

I used to gaze frequently. City light pollution limited that, but camping in remote areas and living in western Wyoming for a few years reignited the curiosity. The sky is definitely filled with wonder. It's understandable why it has such a place in the legends that led to the formation of religions.

Yes that is so cool. I live on the east coast and the night sky is way too bright to see much of the details. when I was a child in the 60's, we lived out in the "country" and the street light infection hadn't started yet. you could make out at least three different layers of stars. even with a telescope I can't see much from where I live now. just a pain in the ass.

My first good view of the Milky Way was from the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Since coming to Australia, I've seen it beautifully from country Victoria, with the added bonus of the Magellanic Clouds (southern hemisphere only!)

Always wanted to see the clouds
Your travels have been worth while to say the least

I get it. I spent a few years in northern Nevada and looking at the stars was one of my favorite passtimes. I think every human on the planet should experience the beauty of the milky way at least once!

Southern Utah has a great dark sky I lived in Kanab for a while

The west is a great place to stargaze
The mid west where I grew up is cloudy most of the time
