Building rockets will not save us from the plague, global warming or anything else. Spending trillions on weapons has done nothing for humanity and may likely lead to our demise. No wonder aliens want nothing to do with us, not yet anyway. We're too stupid and greedy with our excessive boats, jets, 100's of cars, and multiple 100 million dollar homes. Until we share with all of humanity, it will only get worse. The yellow brick road is coming to an end for billions of carbon units.
I'll agree with you that there's far far far too much spending on the military and that there's a sickening and growing wealth inequality in the world.
But I'd strongly disagree with you on the importance of rockets if you are referring to those used in space exploration.
Blaming feeds enmity. Itβs like making a moral judgment against gravity. What we like to characterize as greed is really just how perfectly healthy, smart humans respond to evolutionary mismatch. If we are to survive mismatch it will be through education, forgiveness, and developing a habit of seeking consonance. Humans need only acceptance and instruction, not condemnation. Peace.
