A lily of a day
Is fairer far in May.
Although it fall and die that nigh.
It was the plant and flower of light.
In small proportions we just beauties see;
And in short measures life may perfect be.

Ben Jonson

The poem is :

A lily of a day
Is fairer far in May.
Although it fall and die that night.
It was the plant and flower of light.
In small proportions we just beauties see;
And in short measures life may perfect be.

Ben Jonson

A significant difference.

Are you ok?

I love lilies, especially Naked Ladies, of which I grew many in California.

I love these as well! I've inadvertently moved some of the bulbs around the yard while transplanting, so it's always a pleasure to see some coming up in a new place.

@Lauren it is necessary to dig them up and divide the multiplied bulbs every few years, anyway, or they will eventually stop blooming.
