Vegan?
Can you really go there?
I get it - care for the planet and animal welfare.
But could you really not eat bacon again?
I’m almost meat-free because there’s not much of it that I like(well, BBQ...it’s a basic food group)...but I couldn’t give it and all animal products up. I have a hipster nephew who’s been vegan for four years: on good days, he looks like a heroin addict. Reckon he ain’t doing it right?! (I’m the sarcastic aunt, lol).
Meh, fake bacon flavor is pretty decent.
I can do without ?
But roast pork crackling? There is no substitute.
I haven't had animal flesh in almost 6 years, so yeah, I can go there.
Wow. More power to you then. I can't live without animal flesh.
@Palindromeman Sure you can, you just choose not too.
@AzVixen52 As Mr Burns would say, precisely...
I eat meat about 1x/mo, maybe two and don't miss it. I eat lentils, super firm tofu, eggs 1x/week, beans and vegan sausages...YUM! when's the last time I had bacon???
I'm not quite vegetarian, but I certainly won't eat bacon... it's about the most unhealthy food on the planet. Sure it smells good, but it's a bit like cigarettes... every time you consume it you're shortening your life. [pcrm.org]
I don’t eat pigs. That’s like eating a dog. They’re intelligent and sweet. Fuck bacon.
Are you suggesting that pigs are filthy animals?
@Palindromeman hahahahahahah Jules!! ??
No , I need bacon in my life, eating lamb or rabbit is another thing.
To not eat lamb is positively unAustralian. It's a commitment of national identity. Lamb is also delicious, so there's that.
Yes...I have not eaten bacon in 50 years. Think about bacon...it is nothing but pig fat.
And that is exactly the point. My favourite thing about roast pork is the crackling - pure pig fat. It's a wonderful magical animal:
You might feel differently if the doctor tells you your arteries are clogged with fat. @Palindromeman
@nicknotes Then I just won't ask...
