Why doesn't God just show up and sort us out?

If God exists, why does he let the human race beat itself up over such a simple question of his existence, and which flavour of god we should believe in? I mean, all he has to do is show up. I think we know why 😉

Because if there was a God and it created humans It would be thinking I made a big mistake and gave them free will ,so now I will let those greedy violent destructive morons destroy themselves ,but there is no god

Excellent question! Every year I would take my daughter with me to my mother and stepfather house for the holidays. Twice a day be would call for family prayer where we would all stand in a circle, hold hands and pray. I participated out of respect but it was UTTER BS!! I knew both of those people when they were in their 30s and they smoked, snorted and drink themselves stupid. Now they act like they are holy and superior because they have faith. Last year was my last visit there my asshole of a stepfather during the prayer over thanksgiving meal. He said "Lord there is one among us who does not believe I pray that you open his heart to you". That was the last damn straw. I then added why don't you pray that he materialize in front of us? I said I know why you don't, because you would realize you are fucking talking to yourself!! That was the last weekend I have spent there or spoken to them. I feel so much better not having to deal with their delusions, hypocrisy and unjustified superiority.

One reason I hope I'm right in thinking there is no god, is that if it turns out there is one, I'm not going to like him (her/it) very much.

This is my favorite quote of his.

“… Science is constantly proved all the time. You see if we take something like any fiction, any holy book… and destroyed it, in a thousand years’ time, that wouldn’t come back just as it was. Whereas if we took every science book, and every fact, and destroyed them all, in a thousand years they’d all be back because all the same tests would [produce] the same result.”

There are two answers to this. First, my personal answer is that this god thing people like to talk about isn't there.

The answer for if I thought such a thing existed: Because he's a dick.

Maybe ‘It’s’ a malevolent narcissist, like our ‘commander in chief’ … and simply gets off on stirring up tragedy while being adored 😉

Because he doesn't exist. Unless you are a Pantheist, believing that god is everything and not supernatural, in which case, he is the only thing you have ever seen. Such a god, being identical with nature, has no way of communicating with you other than being right there in front of you all the time. It is the idea of the supernatural that is causing all the problems. As long as people are superstitious they will always fight over whose superstition is the best.
