DO YOU REMEMBER?
Believe it or not, this is economy class seating on Pan Am 747 in the early '70s ....
The Boeing 747 first flew in Feb '69 but didn't fly commercially until 1970. Remember that this was still before the airlines were deregulated in the late 70s. How did the citizens gain by the deregulation?

The seats I ride in look nothing like that.

Actually that's a concept photo from Pan Am of what air travel might look like. Has as much versimilitude as today's concept cars from the auto makers.

One comment - where are the overhead bins? Where does the carry-on luggage go? Removing the overhead bins, especially the central ones makes any cabin much more roomier.
