People in charge at Liberty U caught admitting their goal is political in getting the right people elected. This is a direct violation to keeping tax exempt status. Let's hope someone has the balls to rip it away.

Fishy stuff going on there in Lynchburg, VA. I know because I traveled there and investigated it. Jerry Falwell Sr. started Liberty U and also the largest evangelical political lobby group, The Moral Majority ( active in the 80's ). It is not coincidence that Liberty U has conservative religious politics on its agenda. Falwell paid $10 million for southern radio and TV to get Pres. Reagan elected. In its science department, Liberty U teaches intelligent design (neo-Creationist), and its other courses contain Bible-based thought. Though the Moral Majority collapsed in 1989 due to public controversy, Falwell revived it in 2004 with a new name - the Moral Majority Coalition. In the nation's largest Baptist church which Falwell established in Lynchburg, VA, black people sat in the back at services, which were televised by satellite to national, conservative, religious audiences. Liberty U also has a large international student body enrolled in distance learning, but to have accredited status they must travel to Liberty U for a few of their classes. Thus University U also practices missionary-type education. ( I did research on Liberty U's policies, but no longer have my sources... apologies ).
Good job with the research. They should definitely be paying taxes.
@dalefvictor
Thanks.
It was an eye opener.
Frankly it shocked and continues to scare me.
@AnonySchmoose Oral Robers has a University. There is another Conservative University in Wisconsin or Michigan. It seems all these Religious Universities have the same agenda. They should all be taxed as they may not actually provide the knowledge to get a job in anything not Religious.
@dalefvictor
That was my impression of Liberty U too.
This is why I loathe any faith based educational facility. 1) They literally provide no comprehensive educational value since they do not place emphasis on freedom of thought. 2) They often use their 501c status to gather funds only to use those funds in some sort of nefarious attempts to politically sway elections or to promote hate and disinformation on a large public platform.
