"In a dozen Twitter missives over the past three days, President Trump has accused Democrats of failing to protect young undocumented immigrants, criticized Mexico for its role in illegal immigration to the United States and warned of “caravans” of people headed toward the southern border.

At least half of his statements were inaccurate. Here’s a fact-check.

Mr. Trump warned that new immigrants would take advantage of DACA, and said that Democrats were responsible for the program’s demise.
This is not possible in the first case and false in the second.

The issue of illegal immigration got trump to the white house.. It’s one of few issues he still gets traction, so he works it. Among a plethora of mental problems, he’s also lazy, thus doesn't understand the issues. But fill a gymnasium with his supporters, and that’s fine, cuz they’re intellectually lazy, too...

Politically stupid, and totally uncaring about the health of this nation, instead of playing to the Republican base during the (presidential) primary, then moderating to include more Americans during and after the general election … he’s a one trick pony.. Too lazy, stupid, and uncaring to include more than his cult of deplorables.

As far as illegal immigration, it’s one of very few issue I agree with. Too bad he only views it as a rallying cry rather than something he’s become familiar enough with to lead the nation to a workable and lasting solution ..beyond an idiotic wall…

One thing that bugs me is that he's not being held accountable by Congress for his statements, especially those he's made on twitter. I consider any statements made by a sitting president to the public are de facto official statements.

You have to wonder if his tweets are confirming or confounding others' perceptions of Americans.

Congress is definitely complicit.. But hey, their donors got their massive tax cut … and their religious minions got their supreme court pick.. All’s well 😕

@Varn Unforturnately, I don't think either of these "constituents" will be satisfied. Big businesses probably won't be satisfied until there is no tax burden (including any kind of property tax), and they get all their infrastructure needs paid for -- such as NFL teams conning cities into paying for new stadiums -- and can set their own wages (essentially slavery, without the burdens of ownership). The Christian extremists of course won't be satisfied until America is a full-blown theocracy.
