And unfortunately there's really not much we can do about it aside from invading (again) and getting embroiled in a war that will go on and on for many years at the cost of many American lives and innocent Afghani lives. The previous three presidents were unable to resolve the war with the most powerful military in the world.

We had it almost down to the point of being a non-war. And the popular outcry about "America's longest war" was a dog whistle. How long have we been in Korea? How long have we been in Germany? And on and on. Answer: well over half a century. But as important and strategic as Afghanistan is, we should have stayed their and given them time to trust their own government. What that country really needs is McDonalds. Pizza Hut. Motel 6. Dairy Queen. Because that's what people really want.
