Just posting this iconic song and video by my favourite band this morning because it just passed the 1.4 Billion mark for views on YouTube earlier today….not bad for a song from 1985 by a trio of Norwegians…one of whom, Magne (Mags) Furuholmen, who wrote the catchy riff when he was only 13 or 14 years old, on an old piano in his grandfathers shed.

…in 2017 they slowed down the original bouncy pop song and changed it into a melancholic acoustic version which was used on the soundtrack of the movie Deadpool 2.

Contrary to the belief of many…especially those living in the USA, the band a-ha are not “one hit wonders”, but in fact have to date continued to record and perform successfully around world with countless hits songs including a James Bond theme song and have held two Guinness world records …one for the largest paying crowd at a concert - 198,000 at Rock In Rio, 1991.

They are currently about to resume the remainder of their world tour interrupted by covid 19 half way through in March 2020, and have just filmed and recorded a new album True North which will be released later this year. This will take their number of albums to 13 and add to their tally of more than 100 million units of music sales to date.
