Here's the thing. The FCC deals with anything that creates a signal. It also deals with radio, TV, satelite and microwave and fiberoptics, but it's not just about the signal itself. What the signal says is part of it to. You can't just say whatever you want to, The FCC can yank your broadcast license for broadcasting "fake news". The chairman of the FCC was appointed by Trump last Jan. Now if this guy was appointed by Trump why isn't he going after all the "fake news" Trump is bitching about? Obviously, there isn't anything to go after, and it pisses me off he thinks we're dumb enough to believe his bullshit.

There was a court cse in Florida where a Fox affiliate fired two reporters because they woudl nto lie about Monsanto. They sued for wrongful termination and won, but Fox appealed and the appeals court ruled tht a coporation coudl require employes to lie as a part of their jobs. Which is part of why news in the U.S. has a lot garbage and really isnt' all that informative. Unfortunately under current court rulings, "freedom of the press" is freedom fo speech, which can include the freedom to lie.

The FCC has some control over content, but not enough to yank a license for broadcasting "fake news", otherwise Fox news woudl have been yanked a long tiem ago. They are bsically limited to pornography and profanityas justifications to yanking licesnses.

Not when the Chairman of the FCC was appointed by Trump, Fox can say whatever they want as long as Trumps man is in charge.
