Just some thoughts.
Been watching media coverage of protests against the Russian invasion of Ukraine in different countries, especially English speaking "5 eyed" ones.
There are protests, rather minor but covered by the media. The last months have also had protests with less media coverage although much larger. These larger protests were labeled antivax by the media, but were really about the mandates and government over reach. Authoritarian government.

It seems to me that people are more concerned about their own authoritarian governments than an authoritarian resurgent Russia. I mean, what are the Russians going to do? Restrict travel? Make people carry ID at all times? Require them to check in and register every time they go out socially? Limit numbers at functions? Ban dissent?Have the state take away consent for medical treatment?

Where I'm going is the big, bad Russian bear that has been used successfully since WW II to scare people is no longer as scary to Western society.
Now, in 2022, an authoritarian Russia that has actually invaded a country is not as scary as the Russian USSR of the past, nor our own governments, going purely by protests numbers.we are seeing (a narrow field of reference I know but hey, it's a philosophy post 😉.)

Pre Covid, the antiwar protests would have been much, much larger imo.
