I guess I'm done with "politics as usual." Attended a neighborhood "introduction" for a state representative candidate. Though she professed being opposed to "negative campaigning," she next began to politely trash her opponent, a long-term incumbent.
Building yourself up is a lot harder than tearing somebody else down.

@JudyABQ As long as the same kind of people are the only ones campaigning, and as long as they think the only way to get elected is to raise and spent ridiculous sums of money, and as long as they think big business is the only place to get ridiculous sums of money, nothing is going to really change, because every candidate is bought and paid for by somebody.
What they say and what they do seem to always be different things. Reality is they will always trash the other person.
There is no high ground in politics, heck there are no morals either. We hear about more crooks in politics than I do in any other aspect of life.
