I wish I could understand why ppl believe in gods at all. To begin with, before you can believe in most religions you first have to accept as reality that there's a magical being who lives in the sky and he's omnipotent, omniscient, and eternal. It's a clearly preposterous claim that billions of ppl have no issue with despite a total lack of any evidence. Most claims as ridiculous as God typically have a small following of especially gullible ppl, like Flat Earth or the Moon Landing Conspiracy but the God con became popular on a global scale despite being the most absurd claim of them all.

I think it's because of its promise to conquer death.

Kinda like gravity.
