There is a city in Michigan, Grand Rapids, that holds an annual festival called 'Artprize'. Professional and amateur artists exhibit their work in the city's businesses. All you need to be involved is to find someone who will let you show your work. The city fills with people for a few weeks in September and visitors vote both in the professional and amateur categories. The prize for amateur work has been as high as $200,000. I am a TOTAL amateur, but now that I'm retired I have time to work on my art projects. With absolutely no expectation of anything, I want to show my work before I die.

As non-religious as my wife and I are, when we booked our upcoming bucket list trip to Rome, the first thing we both said is that we wanted to visit the Vatican. I've always been a fan of history and regardless of the hell they cause on earth for people that don't believe (or even those that do) - to stand in historic areas gives me a great perception on my own small life.

I'd also love to find myself on a safari in Africa, or on the beaches of Fiji as the sand sifts between my toes and I've got a drink in both hands.
