Hm-mm, when did politicians discover that when they delegate rule-making to others:

  1. people would not blame them for mistakes, and

  2. people would find mistakes more difficult, or impossible, to fix.

Also, I deal with bureaucrats almost daily, and I find the methods of bureaucrats are much like the methods of authoritarians.

SCOTUS, with the West Virginia ruling taking down delegation, all but gave the November elections to Democrats.

Democrats in Congress need only to confirm what agencies such as the EPA do, and make sure voters know what will happen when Repubs refuse to confirm.

I don’t believe I have ever been more depressed about the future of my Country after hearing this very intelligent woman lay out what has happened to our Democracy. Greedy hateful, racist, misogynistic men and women are destroying what we have built up over the last 100 years. I feel so unprepared to handle what is happening.

I feel quite overwhelmed by it myself ... and very impotent in being able to stop it, or prepare for it.

@Lauren Well, our best weapon is still our vote, and we Americans don’t take part in voting as much as we should. We must vote for people who actually want to be working for the betterment of our society. Too many don’t bother due to the propaganda. We need to fix that. 😘

@Lauren, @MsHoliday Like she said, we have to figure out how to talk to people and help them understand what has been happening for the past decades when repubs are in power. They have figured out their messaging, the Democrats haven’t.

@Redheadedgammy I've always taken my right to vote seriously, but voter suppression is a very real and serious issue, and the GOP keeps implementing more and more restrictions. It should actually be required that everyone vote, like in Australia.

@Lauren well we know that Republicans really hate that idea don’t we? Lol

It is a very serious situation that we find ourselves in but we must try with all our might to vote in every election that we can. I will be working as a voter registrar very soon and I am going to try and get as many people as I can registered to vote here in Texas.

I don’t really like being here but this is life sometimes, you have to suck it up and make the best of a bad situation. I am going to work hard to help bring about change in this state. 😘

@Redheadedgammy You are inspirational and a good leader, and you're right. I'll be doing what I can, even while wishing I was somewhere other than Texas.

@Redheadedgammy And thank you. 😘

@Lauren You are such a lovely person Lauren, thank you for your comment. 😘

I’ve never considered myself inspirational or even a leader since I am such an introvert, but if some of my comments and thoughts are embraced by others that makes me happy.

There are many people on the site from Texas and I would really love to get a group of us together so we who live here can perhaps have a meal together and share some Camaraderie, and also share in a spirit of friendship. I feel so close to many members because I have felt so much caring and compassion from many people on here. 😘

@Redheadedgammy I think you must be vastly unaware of your impact and influence on others. Perhaps as an introvert you don't feel it online, so in person would be a great way to share it with you!

You're right, much as I have my issues with Texas, we have quite a few good people from here, and I would enjoy getting together so we can meet in real life. What a good thing to look forward to.

@Lauren We will have to think about how a meeting could be arranged for a meet-up of Agnostics.com members of Texas.

I’ve already met a few members from other states and it has been a real joy for me to further develop wonderful friendships with them. There are a few more here that I have such admiration for, and would Thoroughly enjoy meeting in person, you being one of them! 😉

Please let me know your thoughts about this idea. 🤗

@Redheadedgammy I think it's an excellent plan. I have no ideas on strategy, but I'm in as much as distance and my work schedule permit.

She took almost forty minutes to say SCOTUS took down the delegation doctrine.

Professors are accustomed to having captive audiences.

@MsHoliday I’m sorry to hear that, as Canada was my last refuge if things get too terrible here. 😕
