I have never shopped on Thanksgiving or Black Friday, I try not to shop on most holidays so that there will be less reason for them to be open and have employees there.

But besides that, as the years go by, I get worse about my feeling towards Thanksgiving. I take it as a good reason to take off and meet some family/friends. But I don't buy the historical fairytale we are taught.

About 12 years ago I briefly worked at a retail store on Black Friday. They opened up around 5am and it was like the place was hit by a mass of looters. It's sick and disgusting how people act at these sales events.
