This is Britain. 😆

Pints and limbs everywhere! England fans go wild in pubs and homes across the country as they celebrate Three Lions' SIX goals against Iran after offices and streets were left deserted for World Cup clash

The 1pm kick-off left many England fans facing prospect of not being able to watch highly-anticipated game

But much of the country's workforce is away from the office and instead glued to the TV this afternoon

Up to 11 million people were expected to pull a sick day in order to watch the match, according to YouGov poll

Meanwhile, some schools today 'rearranged' or halted lessons to allow their pupils to watch the match

Streets were deserted around Windsor and Bristol, with traffic levels also significantly down in London

Sorry, but waaaaay out of my understanding zone.

From time to time, Brits (or the people in the UK, rather, regardless of their origins) become united for odd reasons. Lol

As a Scot …our team didn’t qualify and neither did my adopted team - Northern Ireland, I can take the moral high ground and boycott the whole tournament in protest at the Qatari abysmal human rights record and the corruption in FIFA that led to them being given the right to host this event in the first place. I don’t give a stuff who wins, but if I did…I’d be rooting for fellow Celts - Wales!

I don't mix sports events with politics, to be honest. Simply a wrong platform to bring up political issues. Let people, adults and children alike, enjoy whatever sports they like. BTW, it's a shame that England and Wales are in the same group.

Being retired, and living in Spain, I am able to watch every single match, live!
