Article about the book: "Nonverts: The Making of Ex-Christian America" by author Stephen Bullivant
Why Americans are leaving their churches.
This article hits the nail on the head. I also found it fascinating to see a chart showing the nonverts and the cradle nones. I actually had never heard the terms "nonverts" and "cradle nones" but it makes sense to study them/us individually.
Seems to me that nonverts (like me) seem to feel the need to be more vocal about freedom from religion than the cradle nones (like my kids) since they didn't have to go through the trauma of leaving the religion they were born into and the turmoil that comes with that. Respecting the choice to have no religion seems fairly normal with the younger generation. Hope that trend continues. Anyway, the article was interesting.
Not sure if I'll buy the book, but maybe. It just came out this month and I might wait for the reviews before buying or listening to the audio book. Has anyone here read it?
