Trump pulled off the biggest wamboozle ever, or at least since religion. He is NOT a believer, he just plays one for the ignorant masses who voted for him. To dismiss him as delusional is almost as bad as having voted for him. It is his followers who are delusional, he is just playing them.

"I don't know of anyone who has worked the evangelical community more effectively than Donald Trump," said Ralph Reed, the chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, which this year plans to devote four times the money it spent in the 2014 midterms." NYT, 4-25-18

This same article reports that Paula White has been Trump's pastor for 16 years. I'd read that Trump had seen her on tv, liked what he saw and called her, and that she'd taken him around the country to meet other evangelical leaders...but I had no idea the relationship had been going on that long. I've imagined that what he liked about her and those she introduced him to was their ability to grift their believers. Birds of a feather, the unholy spirit.

Who will write the book, "How Trump Grifted And Conned The Christian Right"? I hope I live long enough to buy and read it.

I’ve come up with an explanation for why “Christians” can and do support people like Trump. It must be that he and they are saved in the "blood of the Lamb" and are thus forgiven for any and all sins. The people that happen to believe a bit different are not saved and consequently destined for hell are not to be forgiven. Even someone whose every sentence is a stretch of the truth at best and pure unadulterated lies otherwise is almost worshiped by adoring groupies. Someone who brags about grabbing women by the pussy, debases the disabled and slimes whole countries is venerated. Once saved always saved and that has to be someone who thinks exactly like them.

Yep, a good con man works at his scams. When he was younger he said he was an atheist and that he was to smart to be religious. Then he found out how easy it is to con people with doG in the head. There is a video on line somewhere.
