A few years back I was buying mushrooms at a farmer's market. The nice lady told me the best way to cook mushrooms was in a dry pan; no butter, no vehicle of any kind. (She said the mushroom has enough moisture in it and will take care of itself.) Last night, as I was cooking my mushrooms dry I was thoughtful of our conversation and thankful she told me because it brings the flavor you a whole other level. I've been cooking them this way for years now and can't imagine how I liked mushrooms before this, lol. Next time give it a try, they taste ahhhhh-mazing!

I will try to remember to try that. Thanks! What abut seasoning - garlic?

Good to know. My hubby drowns them in butter, garlic, and onion juice by throwing them in on the onions and putting the lid on. I try to smile around the slimy mess.

My question is why have the Crimini mushrooms become sooo expensive lately?

@pepperjones Okay, I am getting my mushrooms mixed. I am talking about the brown, Crimini looking mushrooms. They are $6.99 at our co-op store.

I do love mushrooms. What about seasoning?

I prefer them sauteing them in clarified butter, with some minced onion, a little soy sauce and pinch or so of sugar.
