For quite some time I've been interested in some of the exciting developments that are under-reported in mass-media, the implications of which are profound. AI, the coming of limitless, free and clean power, precision fermentation, advances in medicine. These developments are leading to an age of almost unimaginable abundance, so long as we don't blow ourselves up in the meantime. The trivial and mundane everyday issues are just that, trivial.

One of my favorite chroniclers of what's coming is Tony Seba. He wrote a book over 10 years ago about the coming clean power revolution, EV's, etc. No woo-woo, just solid analysis of the underlying technologies and their economics. DIsruptive innovation seems to creep along unnoticed until it explodes on the scene, for example, by 2030 the great majority of new cars will be electric.

The link will take you to five short videos, the last of which is a good summary. It gives me faith for the future.

I hope you enjoy it.

are you forgetting that without potable water we are all doomed?

A real issue, but solvable. Shortages are largely caused by us humans and hence, can be addressed. Which is not to say that it will be easy.

All of those innovations will mean there will be some adjustment required by society. There are way too many people that cannot comprehend much less adapt to change so it will not be a smooth road.

Agree. The issues to progress are human-made. They are not technical. I fear we humans will blow each other up for some made-up nonsense. Think religion, nationalism.
