I had tea with the Old Woman on the Mountain last evening. We sat on her porch and watched the sun set behind the western ridge. As it grew darker, lights began twinkling in the valley far below where Humanity lives.
She said, "Their problem is actually simple. But from down there, they can't see it."
I waited.
She went on, "You know, Eddie Boy, the Lefties are Thinkers, and the Righties are Believers."
I said, "Hmmmm."
"The Thinkers can't convince the Believers with their thinking. And the Believers can't convince the Thinkers with their belief...that they have a magnificent, strong, smart Leader who will solve all our problems."
I scratched my head. "So what can we do about that?"
She took a long time to answer.
She finally shrugged and said, "Nothing," and passed me the plate of cookies she had baked that afternoon.

Great short story. Publish it.

Thanks. I put it on three social sites that I frequent.

We have to take sides, else the other side keeps doing things we don't like.
