But, yup, the failure of the guru system is a good illustration that even an alleged ascetic is not necessarily virtuous. Many eastern gurus have financially and sexually and emotionally abused people. Just the same as fundagelical pastors and televangelists have. Just the same as pedophile priests have.

Oh, You haven't really seen it all. There are so many stupid philosophies that they teach and follow, and those that question them would be treated like blasphemy. They are also filled with a lot of lies and arrogant, camouflage as humble.
