imagine a six year old German girl sitting on a swing her father had built for her in the doorway of ythepeat shed where she could swing back and forth , singing all the songs she had earned verbatim from American Forces Netwotk radio. The Yellow Rose of Texas was one of those songs.
I am not sure it was Hoyt Axton's version.but listening to him takes me back.
