Montana passes law to ban TikTok on personal devices beginning Jan 1st. While I'm not a fan of TikTok or The Chinese government's ability to spy on users, i can't see how this will stand up in court if not a federal ban. Of course, who knows anymore what SCOTUS might do if it reaches them.

Having just watched the effects of Russia's hacking into American society/politics I don't expect we'll allow China to do it. The technology is too invasive so can't be sanctioned for free use.

I read that this morning and had much the same thoughts.
I can see it possibly being banned on workers requiring a security clearance, but not much else.

The feds have already banned it on government owned equipment.
