Noah died at 950 years of age? I have been doing a lot of study on time travel, hyperspace, and space time lately and have learned very crazy things that physics actually allows to happen. Could theses people in the bible that had this connection with "God" may have had access to some type of time altering technology? Something that allowed them to enter hyperspace or possibly travel with "God" someplace at great speeds to be show how to create the ark and other item in the bible? Entering into these zones of hyperspace or traveling at great speeds will slow down time around you, so 10 minutes in hyperspace could possibly be 100 years earth time. I'm believing more and more each day that the bible is more of a record of things that did actually happen just misinterpreted completely. I feel there is more evidence to suggest life on Earth was most likely seeded from an extraterrestrial intelligence that is just god. A race of beings thousands of years further advanced in technology would most likely have the ability and knowledge to do things discribed in the bible that we think to be impossible.

It is a mythological story based on those that were previously talked about at that time as we have writings about the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Epic of Atrahasis that predate the Biblical teaching. We also have the writings that talk of the actual flood that Ziusudra saved his family from, it is also older than that Noah thing.

that old "misinterpretation" of the bible argument again? your argument fails there, why propose the bible in the first place ? what about the Quran which is just as irrelevant to science as the Bible.

you quote "A race of beings thousands of years further advanced in technology would most likely have the ability and knowledge to do things discribed in the bible that we think to be impossible."

like war , pestulance and enslavement, ?

was going to say more, but getting bored with this type of discussion.

Last I heard the age of those old testament guys was based off some really weird math based on a sketchy lack of evidence. It's inferred, like they totaled the generations from Adam and Even until now, then adjusted ages to make it fit better.

A lot of bible math is like that, they start with the assumption that the bible is 100% truth, and then find the numbers that fit into the paradigm and roll with with.

Also, the hyperspace concept is not entirely accurate. The age would be relative to the position of the one counting years. The earthly observer could count 950 years, but to anyone traveling near the speed of light a very normal amount of time would have passed. In the case of your example, Noah would insist he was in hi 70's while in a discussion with his own great, great, great grandchildren who were told tales that Noah had left earth 900 years prior.

They were using a lunar calendar 950 months =73 years.

Ha ha. The simplest explanation is most often the correct one. The people of that time and location (most locations) told time by the moon. There are almost 13 full moons a year. Do the math -- Noah was a reasonably long-live person for that time, but not magic, not technology.

I have thought about this moon cycle yes, my only issue with that is Job:25 I think and also somewhere in Psalm it speaks of a time before there was a moon. I'm sure that's purely speculation but according to the timeline the moon apparently came into existence in the sky at the time of the flood. Also the Greeks recorded a time before the moon learned from other tribes stories of their existence. Now I'm pretty sure the moon was there but it's odd they speak of times before the moon. Then again I wasn't there so I guess I can't say for sure lol.

@Bloodmoon I would say that the verses are false. A lunar eclipse -- and the people took it as a bad sign, and the story grew from there. The bible is full of things that have been midrash -- stories with meaning -- told around campfires and grown over time.
