An interesting legal case in the UK currently claiming the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine was "defective".
The reason I have posted this is to illustrate the singular stance that solves all of this; Consent for medical treatment.
Common law over the ages has been that any medical treatment requires informed consent from the patient. Informed consent means the patients must be informed of risk Vs benefit in taking the treatment, then consent must be freely given without any coercion.
This is where the Hippocratic Oath of "do no harm" comes from.
This is why medical mandates are not legal without special legislation that remove this medical right of informed consent.
Personal bodily choice for all medical treatment, that's all that is needed to be defended.
An easy stance to understand as it is logical and reasonable. Therefore an easy stance to defend if challenged. Examples;
Abortion; up to the patient after informed consent obtained
Vaccines: up to the patient after informed consent obtained
Euthanasia: up to the patient after informed consent obtained
Amputations/ body alterations: up to the patient after informed consent obtained
etc Easy!
Hopefully people adhere to this principle next time.

Are you saying that a medical procedure was done to you WITHOUT your informed consent?

Regardless, being informed about possible side effects has to be done within reason, otherwise we would all need to read and sign 50-page consent forms before every doctor visit, dentist visit, eating at any restaurant, or shopping at any grocery store.

More than 5 billion people in the world have gotten the Covid vaccine. The number of complications and deaths caused by these vaccines is extremely small. Less than 1 person in a million has had an adverse reaction to the vaccine. Your chances of getting struck by lightning are 1 in 500 thousand. So, you're twice as likely to be struck by lightning than have an adverse reaction to the Covid vaccine.

Not the covid vaccine in my case, the influenza vaccine. Withholding visitation to my dying father was the coercion applied. Yes, I was forced to comply for the alternative was abandoning my father. I was required to sign a disclaimer beforehand on which I wrote "Signed under duress".
The declaration of a pandemic for a coronavirus was abused to mandate an influenza virus in Australia. That is what happened.

With covid vaccine, I don't know of any who took it freely and it sure as shit was not fully explained to them it was an experimental medicine (under 5 years since development), that it was never tested to stop transmission, that they would require a booster every 6 month (experimental medicine ie no-one knew) or if already exposed to covid aka natural immunity then actually harmful to take a vaccine.
Instead they were told "Want to save Grandma, get a jab. Want to work, get a jab. Want to travel, get a jab. Want to socialise in public, get a jab. All of this is termed "coercion".

You think the vaccine is good and saved lots of lives so great!. Take it and convince others to your way of thinking ie inform them.. That is all I am saying..........Informed consent ie you get to choose after considering pro's and con's for yourself. If I believe you have made the wrong decision, such is life. I still defend your right to decide for yourself.
Just add informed consent is not informed when information is purposely withheld or exaggerated..

@puff I guess things are different in Australia than here in the US. I've received the Covid vaccine and one or two boosters and I have gotten the flu vaccine several times. I did this completely voluntary and was at no point coerced into getting the vaccines.

In the US we do have mandatory mumps, measles, and rubella vaccine for children attending public schools.

The Covid vaccine is good and absolutely did save many millions of lives as have the various other vaccines that are in wide use. If we had waited then the death toll would have been far higher. In 2020 alone about 7 million people died from Covid. If we'd waited 5 years then the death toll might very well have been in the tens of millions or far worse due to more rampant strains of Covid.

There's very little in life that is absolutely risk free. The only way to remain safe is to stay at home forever, don't eat anything you didn't grow and cook yourself, and avoid all human contact.

@Charles1971 With consent you must understand that those under 18 are unable to give it, instead their legal guardian decides for them. I am angry at authorities for not supplying complete information to guardians eg the young were never at major risk and the covid vaccines are still in experimental stages with no long term data available eg if I give my 6 month old a vax, will there be any effects when they are 5 years old? The answer? Wait 5 years and I'll tell you. Other childhood vaccines have the time and data to back them up, tried and tested. But even those vaccines are not mandated in Australia although financial coercion is used to encourage compliance.
Also with consent if it cannot be obtained, then first aid principals come into it, principally the Hippocratic Oath of "Do no harm".
Yes things are different here than the US, no bill of rights here, but the principal of informed consent is universal. You see the SCOTUS overturned Biden's covid vax mandate for Federal workers for the exact reasons I have articulated here.
My belief is there is a problem with the definition of "vaccine", the ONLY class of medicine that can be mandated. Both Covid and influenza "vaccines" do not deserve that distinguished class of medicine as neither stop transmission, meaning a herd immunity is unattainable through their use.
In times of pandemic, if an effective medicine is developed, there would be no need to mandate as the vax would sell itself. If said vaccine is not so effective, then the use of coercion must be employed with mandates being the most extreme, to get people to take. This is what happened as governments pre-ordered the vaccine with incomplete testing aka information, so to ensure all took the product they started mandating AGAINST scientific advice. No medical authorities recommended mandates, politicians did (so much for follow the science aye?).
So I suggest just support informed consent needed for all medical treatment regardless, makes things easier.
