I don't know a whole lot about Hitch, seems like he is worth studying a bit.

Think it was Gene Wilder who said "empathy is all you need" as a "guide" to life. A good counter if you ever get the "need religion for moral guidance" argument. I've used it, shuts them up pretty quick.
