For many, owning a gun was taboo. Now they’re buying them.-

Can’t blame people for buying guns for protection with the crime we have nowadays. Maybe people will finally realize that law abiding citizens with guns are not the problem.
That's right, because when the cops show up to the crime scene anybody with a gun will be dead in a hail of cop bullets in moments, you fool......
@annewimsey1 If cops shoot someone who is using a gun in their own house for self defense they would be in big trouble.
@Trajan61 you'll still be dead, I hope that comforts you......
@Trajan61 Human beings have always been the root of the problem, and not the tools/objects they may use per se.
@annewimsey1 (pats Anne on the back) There there, such scenarios like that involving cops are not as widespread as some believe they are. It's estimated that each year there are around 1.5 million times firearms are used in self-defense, and it's relatively safe to assume that most of the gun owners around the country who used their guns in self-defense did not meet their end at the hands of the Police.-

I'm fairly certain Elisjsha Dicken wasn't shot dead by the police for using his sidearm in self-defense at an Indiana shopping mall. Likewise, I don't think Kyle Rittenhouse met his end at the hands of the Popos either after using his gun to defend himself, and he was carrying a scary-looking rifle no less.
While there are some tragic incidents involving police accidentally (or maybe not so accidentally) shooting and killing the individual trying to defend themself from an aggressor, such incidents are far fewer in comparison to the total number of times in a year firearms are used for self-defense in which cops don't end up killing anyone innocent.
Personally, knowing those statistics, think I'll take my chances and defend myself if need be rather than wait for the police to arrive on the scene, because by the time they would finally arrive I would probably already become living impaired at the hands of my attacker if I wouldn't be willing to defend myself. Afterall, if one distrusts the police that much as you had suggested above, why wait for them to save your life then from a violent thug, right?
On a lighter note, all of this obvious anti-cop rhetoric from some folks gives me some inspiration for a song, maybe I'll call it "The Popos R Gunna Get Me In My Sleep". Might make for a good rap song, who knows, lol.
