I know some ppl who did this. Kept a dying relative in a church for a few days trying to pray away her sickness. She went from bad to worse so they rushed her to the hospital where she died within a couple of minutes. They learnt a "valuable lesson"... God saw that their faith in him that he'll heal her was weak, so when they gave up and rushed her to the hospital, God let her die to teach them a lesson... that they should never gave up on him. I'm inclined to believe this happened more than once cus one of the women had a high risk pregnancy and more than a year later they were making up excuses about why she haven't made her baby as yet. They were hush hush about it. But I suspect she lost the baby and they did not take her to the hospital but kept her in the church praying and fasting to keep the baby alive. I think she was trying get pregnant again asap to cover it up cus they were saying the doctor underestimated how many months she was pregnant by etc etc. The last story I heard was she got a false positive and was never pregnant and the doctor made a mistake and she was just fat .. Sighs

God is great even when belief in him hurts people.

That is so.........STUPID! ,?

Another reason why faith is toxic.

Had a friend whose dad refused to admit how sick his wife with cancer was. He believed "if you speak it, it will come true." He would only say God was going to heal her. When she was finally at home in Hospice his other children had to force him to call his son in the military and have him come home on emergency leave. His son didn't make it on time. In my opinion he ruined the last chance his son had to see his mom alive. It was heartbreaking.

My heart dropped reading he missed that chance. And its this level of willful ignorance that make me detest religion even more
