When I taught on campus at the local community college, there was a guy with a theology degree from a Xtian college. He had been the administrator of a private Xtian school but had retired and was teaching world religions at the CC. He would sit in the adjuncts' office and brag how he did not NOT let his religious beliefs affect what he said in the classroom and did not tell students that he was even Xtian.
I was walking down the hall with one of my students one day when we passed the guy. My student said, "See that guy? He teaches the world religions class I'm in and is a fundie Xtian. You should hear what he says about other religions."
The man was dismissed a couple of terms later. I don't know if students complained or the if the fanatical look in his eye became so pronounced that it scared people.
Anyone with a fanatical look in their eyes would scare me too.
@Betty honestly, the man looked almost demon possessed at times. He was elderly, was in a wheelchair by the time they let him go, and I think senility was setting in. He wasn't there for long, and that indicates something was amiss with him. After all, I'm crazy and I've been teaching there for 20 years but not dismissed.
@Gwen_Wanderer People like that, even when there is mental illness involved can turn out to be quite dangerous. Luckily that was not the case in your school.
If you mean crazy smart, then I agree.
@Betty I am not in the mainstream and any time someone is not in the mainstream, they are considered being a bit "crazy."
Others have described me as eclectic, eccentric, and "out there/weird" but in a good way!
@Gwen_Wanderer You're wonderful just as you are. Don't change for anyone.
@Betty thank you and the chance that I would change per what someone says can be stored on the point of a needle! Love ya.
