A friend of mine in Europe has something similar, only he put up this fence around where he wants the mower to cut and then schedules it to cut 2/3 times a week. So no remote control needed, but he can control it with his cell phone if he is out of town.

It goes out of its charging garage to mow and it come back on its own when its battery is feeling weak, it recharges itself and then goes back out to complete the job. Plus if it starts to rain the mower knows enough to go back to its charging garage until the rain stops and the lawn is dry.

Meanwhile, John can do what he like the best, he sits, watches it and he has a drink.
