I tried my outdoor wood pellet pizza oven for the first time today. We'd had it for a while but I'd never fired it up. For a first try I used small prefab crust rounds and commercial sauce.

Even though I'd read how quick it cooked I was still surprised. The first time I checked it at a couple of minutes the cheese had already melted and run. Lol. It took longer to light and heat than to cook but it was still very easy to use. Next time I'll make my own sauce and use a cast iron dish with a lip to keep everything in place as it cooks. Ha, ha.
Now that it's not so cold outside all the time we're looking forward to this.

My wife already has a pellet smoker that we both enjoy very much. It's semi-automatic and very easy to use. The pizza oven cooks so fast that things don't come out with as much smoke flavor as from the smoker (as if that didn't make sense). We're both long time vegetarians so it's easier to control ingredients at home than it is other places.

I guess we'll have to figure out what all to try -- I'm looking forward to sweet chili pizza.
