"You don't have to believe the same thing as me, but I do need to know what you believe in."

That's a devout Catholic mother trying to connect with the drama teacher in from Episode 3 of the NBC show "Rise." The show is about a public high school theatre program and all the storylines of being, teaching or raising a kid in America today.

Any one up for sharing your answer? We're drawn together by what we don't believe in -- What do you believe in?

"You don't have to believe the same thing as me, but I do need to know what you believe in."

A clear example of a religionist making it all about themselves.

I'll start: I believe in the interconnectedness of all things, both the ecosystem and our commonality as human beings. I believe all humans are born with the capacity for love and connectedness. I believe we all have the right to seek our own joy and happiness. I believe said journeys tend to bump up against each other, so also believe in civility, democracy and the rule of law.
