I really, REALLY need to go visit my home town... for about the past year or so I've been missing Minnesota.. people around here look at me like I'm crazy but I really miss it.
Dont get me wrong, New Mexico isn't terrible, but I really, REALLY miss the "green" scenery of Minnesota, the large metropolitan areas, even yes, the snow.. in fact, i LOVE the weathered days MN had.. be it a foggy, misty/rainy day, a snow flurry, or a sunny day.. I miss that.
I've actually lived in NM now for as long as I lived in MN, but Albuquerque/Rio Rancho has never felt like "home" to me. I miss the Lakers, the forest excursions, the weekend drives to the north to visit Duluth or even the Canadian boarder, the parks, the extensive variety of sights & events there... I just don't find that kind of stuff here. I sont care about the "Chile fests" or wine festivals or the beer-fest type stuff they often have here... not saying I hate the culture or anything but it's just not my interest, that's all.
Maybe I'd feel different had I not felt pressured to move here? I moved here a bit more out of necessity than choice.. maybe one day I'll get out. They don't jokingly call this place "the land of entrapment" for nothing.

Minnesota is beautiful, but I lived in Duluth for fifteen years and couldn't handle the subzero winters any more.
