Well. I've just booked two nights in Bayeux for mid July, in order to ogle the Bayeux tapestry there, and explore a bit more of that area. I had a good look at the Normandy landing beaches a few years ago, this is a continuation.
I shall then continue to Dieppe, where I have previously visited the museum commemorating th 1942 raid on Dieppe carried out by Canadian troops, and then catch a ferry to England for a 3 weeks wander, before driving over to Switzerland and Northern Italy to continue my annual jaunt. Oh! The joys of being retired!
all the best on your journey, have fun, enjoy, make friends & report back please! fortunately it'll be my turn soon - the retirement spiel
i just realized that you live in my favorite of all countries (because it "has" the canary islands & the most appealing lingo). you're the lucky one!
@walklightly Verdaderamente, tengo yo mucho suerte.
@Petter, estoy feliz por ti.
@walklightly Me alegre. ¿ Hablas Francaise ?
@Petter, no hablar frances, lo siento. solo ingles y aleman.
@walklightly y Tampoco Swahili. No hablo yo Alemàn. Hablo Inglés, Castellano, Frances y Swahili.
I'm jealous, would love to see those places.
my first thought: green with envy
I didn't really have time until I retired, as my Spanish publishing business kept me busy 24/7. Before that, I lived in Kenya and until I became senior management of the company I couldn't afford the cost of travel. I did have two memorable trips to the Western part of the USA, (California, Nevada, Arizona) and one to Canada (mainly Quebec province) and really enjoyed myself.
Having holiday time is one of the benefits of getting older.
Torn between happiness for you and the Kelly green envy that I'm not hiding in the luggage!
Jk, mostly Petter, have fun, take photos, share with us later!
Hugs, gives you ...huge bouquet of tulips, bottle of vintage wine, and a good book! for your journey.!
Not too good a book, please. Otherwise I'll never have time to drive. The poor car gets driven around 10,000kms each summer.
Sounds great! Lucky you.
I truly am. That's what comes from NOT thinking the lord will provide! Lol
