I'm curious what you mean by existential depression/angst.......?
It's a pretty wide open term.

There's info on google, but generally it's a malaise about the suffering of mankind and the purposelessness of it all

Ah. Im kind of an absurdist cheerful nihilist.
Nothing has to matter. I guess you have to deal with it best you can.

Yeah. I think an educational system made up of general education contributed to a major upset about not answering my personal questions on mathematics, machinery, programming, the body, the arts, language, and such.

However, there was always a physical and/or lifestyle cause of my emotions. Medical science is pretty supportive of that conclusion; basically every mental illness has a component that corresponds with the health of the body.
