Not sure if they are statistically true or not but most seem like they could be. Being well educated does make a person more likely to be financially secure. Being financially secure lowers the likelyhood of all the rest of them except possibly teen pregnancy. Teen pregnancy can be lowered with birth control and proper education about sex, both of which many religious people don't approve of.
Most of these are things religious people shame others for in the name of God. I don't think it is a bad thing to point out that the godless are better at them.

I agree with all of those with the exception of the first one.

Well i am a divorced atheists bit then again the ex is a fuckin christian

that's bullshit

I don't like this...

It passively shames the less educated, the financially insecure, pregnant women and those who have had abortions and those who divorce. It's as toxic as any religious diatribe.

I'll take gross generalizations for 500, Alex.

I don't see having a divorce, an abortion (for the right reasons), not being financially secure and not being well educated (if you've not had the opportunity) as "a bad thing".

I don't know anyone who has had an abortion who was happy about it. It's often the best choice but not usually a "good thing". This one should be thrown back in the faces of the religious because they are the ones that make others ashamed of it while doing everything they can to make birth control expensive and less avaiable, and to prevent real sex education. As someone who is financially insecure I can tell you it would be much better not to be. I think it is a "bad thing", something to strive not to be fore sure.
I agree with your sentiment here in that I don't shame people for these things or think less of them, but they are all things a person should try to avoid for their own sake (or strive for in the case of the last two)

@MsAl you're absolutely right in that they're bad things, but the post is about shaming the people in those situations. My point was that the people involved were not bad people.

@smoyle Yes many people seem to think this here, but I disagree. I don't think it is about shaming any of those things. It's about pointing out hypocrisy. I think it is an excellent meme (if true) and those things should be the narrative when speaking of atheists.

@MsAl Do you mean the Christians are hypocritical because they themselves do more of these things than atheists? That still presupposes that the people who do these things are somehow worse than the people who don't. Have I got that right?

If that's the case I still disagree because it doesn't mean you're worse than anyone else (theist or atheist) just because you have an abortion or are poorly educated.

@MsAl Or, I could have misread the whole thing. Does it mean that atheists are better off (happier) with out god? In which case I agree. With some of the points.

@smoyle I only mean that athiests are doing a better job at the morals that they (the religious people) seem to hold so dear. They are cruel and judgemental about these things, but are the ones doing them more. They are the hypocrite and cause others pain in being this way.
